In 2014 I co-founded Pop-up Play with two colleagues. At Pop-up Play© we believe that play can be a vehicle for youth to transform public spaces, strengthen connections with others, and become change-agents in their communities. In a typical Pop-up Play day, youth EXPERIENCE. CREATE and then LEAD for other youth.
I started the Sandbox Collective in April 2013 as a monthly forum for youth development consultants. The goals of those meetings were to bring consultants together to increase collaboration and reduce competition, and to share resources. Since the first meeting, the group has grown and our focus has shifted to also include other youth development practitioners, community members, and advocates.
The goals of the Film & Video Screenings is to provide an alternative to the ‘same old, same old’ professional development offerings to OST/Youth Work professionals. We aim to use film as a strategy to have different, deeper conversations about our work and things that are important to us as Youth Development Professionals, advocates, educators (traditional and non-traditional) community members, etc.
